Idle Hands

by Amy on January 22, 2010

Cooking, sewing, writing, tickling, typing, building, coloring, playing, kneading, comforting, making, tying, knitting, working.

The hands in our house are always busy.

A few of the things keeping my hands busy this week:

the Craft Hope for Haiti Etsy Shop

the Metro New York City Area Modern Quilter’s Guild

a new and improved Roundabout Quilt Pattern (this time I’m including seam allowances)

three new and really exciting website projects

and all the usual nose (and tushie) wiping, (neurotic) hand-washing, homework helping, hair brushing, puzzle piecing, Lego building, shuttle driving, meal making, laundry doing and the like.

Just how I like it.

I see you are wearing your Superwoman cape today!!! Quite a lot going on. Good for you. I really like the webpage you have for the NYC Modern Quilt Guild. I’m involved in the Orlando branch. So exciting. We have 11 members now. How fun. Thank you and all the other wonderful volunteers, donators, buyers, etc. at Craft Hope for Haiti.

Love all your pics. Our place is much the same – my hands are so dry, they hurt! But my kids haven’t been sick much – knock on wood!

Your hands make my hands feel tired.

Awesome. Last night I watched TV with nothing in my lap–no book, no knitting. And it just felt wrong!

Beautiful pictures of hands doing such thoughtful work. Lovely.

Almost 14 weeks pregnant, I think the busy hands of a mom sounds very appealing. I hope I am baking up a lego builder as both my husband and I loved playing legos as kids and we still have all of our legos. It is some collection!

Those are hardly idle hands…

Those hands are really moving…I’m thinking, wishing, hoping that a modern quilt group will start up Upstate.
