I don’t have much to say today.
Yesterday my family got news of a possible health scare with my father.
The end of the story is that he’s fine but before the day was over my emotions had turned me into a marshmallow.
Today was quieter.
Our lovely babysitter came to watch Quinn and instead of working I went for a walk.
By myself.
And stopped in to a bakery for a Shabbat Challah.
I stayed there long enough to drink coffee out of a mug and do one crossword puzzle on my iPhone.
Back to reality now.

I’m glad to hear that your dad will be o.k., What a beautiful place to walk.
That kind of scenery is certainly soul-reviving.
Sounds like a lovely outing – and just the thing after a hard day.
And ps. I may have to resort to baking my own challah, as the one I bought today was more “hint of challah”…
It’s the simple things isn’t it.
Nothing like a health scare to shake things up. Glad he’s ok, and glad you got some time to yourself. Be well, Amy.
Beautiful photos. Hope your time alone helped clear your head. Glad your dad will be o.k.
Glad to hear that things turned out for your father.
Aside from the stress, your day sounds about perfect. I would kill for that walk and challah.

After an emotional taxing day, a little peace and quiet is quite deserved and I am glad you did. I am also glad that it sounds like your father is okay.

Choosing to take care of yourself with your beautiful walk and yummy bakery outing was a very wise and strong choice! Definately hoping your weather improves along with your week!
Glad to hear your dad is ok. Boy, those days are rough, right? All that snow, quiet time, quiet images…glad you had a bit of time to recuperate.
p.s. I love that Menemsha Quilt. Wow! Cool side by side of the photos.
p.p.s. Still looking for inspiration? Or bombarded by quilting possibilities for that fun fabric?

bakery, coffee… time to yourself sounds like pure bliss.. I must try to make sure I spend more time like that… get myself out of the house away from the thankless taskes of being a housewife and treat myself to some me time.
beautiful photos.. but I think I have had enough of the winter now.. can I have spring back please? pretty please with sugar on top?
Lovely photos.
I must say that I really hate this whole parents-getting-older-and-frailer thing. I’m glad your dad’s ok.
i know about that ‘becoming a marshmallow’ thing. glad you had some time to yourself.
I just happened upon your blog while I was exploring…Your pictures are lovely especially the ones where you were walking alone…I will stop by again real soon

Wow. Those photos have such feeling. I’m so glad your father is okay. Sounds like quite an emotional day.
Good that all is well with your father, and that you were able to get a calm moment to yourself.
it seems impossible to me that i’ve never read your blog before – any blog that mentions a shabbat challah alongside such beautiful quilts is one i’m sure i need to know better. (so glad your father is alright.)
