Ouch!

by Amy on May 20, 2009

(You didn’t think I was going to use that polyester hospital sling, did you?)

Thank you for all of your good wishes and book recommendations. The surgery went fine and the cheerful doctor says he fixed me.

Now if I can just make it through the next two weeks wearing ponytails and baggy shirts. Not doing dishes or laundry (hush, Niall). Ordering in and driving one-handed. Changing diapers with my feet (kidding) and typing with six fingers…

Ouch, is right. Good luck recovering, Amy. I hope it goes smoothly and quickly, and that you find a few unexpected benefits of having one arm for a while. Take care!

Good for you…makin’ your own sling!! Much better than the overpriced one they sent home with you, I"m sure.

Hope your recovery is speedy and low impact.

Take care! Your sling is much cuter than the standard issue :)

Best wishes for an easy recovery. I can’t imagine living one-handed for a few weeks. You may find you have more dexterity in your toes than you ever imagined.

Please promise to call if you need anything at all!

And I am totally envious that you saw Hair! I haven’t seen a play since last Fall!

That sling HAS to help you heal more quickly — or at least more stylishly!

Andrea May 21, 2009 at 6:57 pm

Isn’t it great to have an excuse for dishes in the sink and ordering in??? Hope you have a lovely time healing up, get lots of help from your familia and don’t go too bonkers with the things you can’t do.

I’m glad the surgery went well! That is the best sling ever, for sure. Pony tails are good, baggy shirts are good and not doing laundry or dishes is REALLY, REALLY GOOD!

amy May 22, 2009 at 12:32 pm

Love the sling! Enjoy not doing the while you can…Or at least I would!

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I missed the Pete Seeger post!! A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how I wanted Pete to adopt me when I was a child… Please, please, give him my sincere affection and appreciation if you meet him again.
