When It Rains…

by Amy on April 29, 2009

I had a request for a baby boy quilt.

Fun, right? It’s a mixture of David Walker’s Robots and some Kona solids and there’s a random polka-dot thrown in there too. It might need a border—we’ll see.

Seems like there is some quilting to be done around here.

It feels more spring-y today. Temperatures are back in the normal range and leaves are beginning to show themselves on the trees.

I think it’s awesome you are quilting for extra cash! Just remember to enjoy the process!!

Holy cute colors! What a lucky boy. You have such a good eye for color and balance. I love it.

So cute! In shopping for my nephews, I’ve discovered that boy things are often ugly and too rough (camouflage for a toddler?) or too girly and precious. Your quilt is both pretty and clearly masculine. Perfect.

When I drove to work today I realized there were leaves on trees that I hadn’t seen before. They appeared overnight I think. That quilt turned out great, as always!

Super fun! I love the colors in that collections :)

I’m glad there’s more quilting in your future – you always do such a great job!!

baby quilts are probably a perfect outlet for creative-work-for-pay. Not too giant, and people are always willing to pay for special baby gifts. Hope you’re enjoying the process, as the work is beautiful.

1. I love the colors.
2. I love the patterns — especially the stripes.
3. I love the way you put a jaunty rectangle on each square — do you applique them?

Perfect!

I’m not a cute kid fabric kind of person, but I have to say, last night I was up looking at that robot fabric. It’s so darn fun! I think that’s why i made the baby quilt today, That fabric inspired me!

This is a fabulous quilt! I know what you mean by the leaves! When we came back from upstate, the trees seemed to have been brushed with green overnight. Beautiful!

This quilt is GORGEOUS! I have that robot print and I’ve been deciding how to use it. This is certainly a good way…
